you will want to spray a cast iron radiator. to use a brushable product will be difficult because these old radiators have really hard to reach places and rough castings. it will be hard to put an even coat on in the spots between the sections. the job i did on mine years ago came out professional looking out of a spray can. very even.
now. it might be possible to spray that product jeremy mentions (me thinks) if you had access to spray equipment. you would have to read the directions though and see if it can be reduced for spraying. i am not sure how these cheap big box store sprayers work. when we talk about spraying, i mean with a compressor and gun (you can rent this stuff).
if you really want to do a good job you will have to remove them from where they are and be able to turn them around. we did all this before we moved into our house.
jeremy is right about what he says about not using latex but i have this odd tale. i painted our exposed steam pipes with the same high heat paint i did the radiators with. i few years ago i had someone her e painting the trim and he took it upon himself to go over the steam pipe with white latex trim paint. i thought it would peel but it has not. i suspect it is because it has been put over the high temp paint and that serves as a bit of a barrier. i would not knowingly try something like this though.

Do not use latex paint. It will bubble and or change color over time.
Are the radiators steam? If so, make sure you go with a product with specs for tolerating up to 250 degrees F.
I previously used Benjamin Moore’s Advance line of paints for this, but they stopped making the primer a couple years ago.
I am trying their Ultra Spec HP25 for the first time now. Hopefully it works well as a primer and top coat as it is labeled

I think when we did ours in white, i used rustoleum high heat spray. I think. The can was white with a grey color where the writing was and orange sort of around the lable. I think it was rustoleum. That was 16 years ago and its held up well. I cant recall if it required priming.

Several types of brush on paint show up on Amazon when you search for radiatoypaint
