What to do with iron window security grates?

we recently had our windows replaced and in the process had the first floor iron grates removed. We do not plan on putting them back, but are unsure what to do with them. Could we sell them? Where and to whom?

They are in good condition, not too ornate, with a bit of depth on the lower portion for a narrow windowbox (not a large one). Size is approx 85Hx38wx9d (at the bottom, it then narrows to be flush to the window by the time you get halfway to the top.)

I agree with Bob. You get peanuts for them when you sell them but pay a fortune when you want to buy them. I found a pair on the street and used them in my backyard as garden ornaments, they are beautiful

If the gates are original I think the best thing you could do would be yo leave them in your cellar in case some future owner wants to put them back. Also, if your house is in an Historic District you might want to keep them in case you get a violation for having removed them.
