what is the difference between DCA licensed home improvement contractor versus D

OB registered general contractor? I am not able to check the contractor’s history of permits on DOB website for those who provided only their DCA licensed home improvement contractor. In terms of qualification, which is better? Please advice.

Most are DCA home improvement contractors including renos. A brand new 1-3 family requires DOB license.
