What is the average cost of a cedar fence?

What’s the average total cost of a cedar backyard fence? I got an estimate of around 13k for 75 feet of knotty cedar. I have yard that is roughly 20′ wide and 29′ deep.

This sounds high compared to some work I recently had done. I recently paid $16k for 75 ft of cedar fence (50 ft with new posts & 25 ft mounted onto an existing iron fence), 350 SF of pavers, and some other misc work. This also included the demo of 50 ft of chain link fence. I wasn’t blown away by the quality of the work, but then again I can be very picky when it comes to quality. Ultimately I find between price, quality, and schedule you only get to pick 2 out of 3, and I chose to go with price and schedule. My contractor did the paver work and misc work themselves, but subbed out the fence.

I got a quote for 13k for the fence, 6k for the concrete curb for the fence footer, and 3k for the demo of the old fence – coming in at 22k total – which seems pretty high. Do they normally break out the removal of the old fence and doing the concrete footer?

I paid $9K in 2018 for a similar size cedar fence. With the way materials costs have risen over the past few years I think 13K is pretty reasonable. We used Edgar Oquendo from Oquendo Fence and were v happy with his work. It’s still holding up great 5 years on.
