Turf in the Backyard

I am thinking of putting turf down in our backyard so the kids have an area to play. We have about 800 sq feet and I would turf around 400. It’s probably something I would do myself so I am really focused more on the product. I have done some research, but there are a lot of options out there. Has anyone done this? Does anyone have a product recommendation?

We just installed Synlawn (SynAugustine 347) and I love it. It looks great, and the kids have been playing on it all the time. Check out their website, and if you call the local franchise they’ll send you samples of different products (and help guide you)

I’m doing this right now. Went with SYNLawn—installing after the 4th. ForeverLawn is another decent bet in the area.

SYNLawn runs about $7/sqft plus freight, which would probably come to about $250 on 400 sqft.

It’s a decent chunk of change when all is said and done but I am so sick of trying to grow grass and weeding in the backyard.
