The stucco on my neighbor's building has been cracking and falling onto my roof

for years. I’ve spoken with him and her isn’t very interested in fixing it. Is there any way through the city to compel him to do so? [20200627_140608_HDR](//muut.com/u/brownstoner/s3/:brownstoner:4BWJ:20200627_140608_hdr.jpg.jpg)

Did you suggest to him that you’d prefer he take care of it without having to involve DOB enforcement? You can call 311 and file a complaint but, as we know from the recent building collapse in Cobble Hill that’s no guarantee. Make sure you’re documenting where the material is falling on your roof, video and photo if possible. When the bricks from his chimney start falling out and poke a hole in your roof, causing a flood, your insurance company will be happy to sue his insurance company for the cost of the repairs.
