Thank You John Hancock for recommending Monteath Lumber

A year or so back JH had recommended Monteath Lumber in Old Bridge NJ on this board.. i immediatly called them and found them patient, courteous, and conversant on the phone. A few weeks back i called them again to ask specific questions and they took the time to explain product and capabilities.

I visited monteath yesterday and found the staff to be professional, so professional that i thought i was dealing with part owners when in fact they were highly trained employees. A credit to their boss.

They have all the woods and then some and can dress or plane or resaw. They also have some sapele or mahogany like crown moldings in stock.

They will let customers wander their inventory alone which is great because one does not feel rushed.

Prices are lower than nyc but unless someone has a lot of free time or likes driving, it may not be worth the time, tolls and fuel unless someone plans on spending at least $1200-1500.

Great place to see the la rger machines at work. I had my son with me and we put him to work grabbing the outfeed from the resaw and planer.
