Temporary Roof Deck Solution?

Hi! We had a leak from our roof deck, which is an extension over the room below. Our contractor fixed it but found that the wood tiles were situated on wooden pedestals which is not a good option for many reasons. We need to redo the deck entirely but need some time to plan. He is thinking we should put down new pedestals and then put the old wooden tiles over until we know what to do but that seems potentially complicated. Is there a temporary or inexpensive solution so that we can use the deck without doing any damage while we plan for the new one?

Thanks so much! So appreciate this forum!!

Put some protection on the new membrane, drainage mat for example, and put the tiles directly down on that.
