Structural engineer redux

I’ve taken note of past posts recommending engineers, but wonder if anyone has feedback on people they’ve used or additional suggestions. I’m looking for a couple of more estimates for drawings/DOB filings/inspections for a brownstone deck with exterior staircase. I’ve spoken to an architect about this (tiny) project, & he told me the best thing was to go with an engineer, not an architect.

Going to disagree slightly with the architect. My take is you need someone to design the deck – what it looks like, materials, floor type, finish, railings etc. But I do agree that it would be filed by an engineer. Would also disagree slightly that it’s tiny – There are a lot of inspections and types of contractor involved.
