Sponsor withholding mold Inspection

I moved into a new construction building a few months ago. Closing was delayed about 5 months and I did not know why, just “It’s new construction these things happen.” After closing and moving in, I came to find out that the basement of our 8 unit condo flooded with 6 ft of water (hence the delay). Upon learning this, the owners demanded a mold inspection. We’re under warranty with the sponsor/management company and after 3 months of asking they finally got someone in there to check it out. This was after I pulled a moldy bag out of my basement storage unit.

A couple weeks went by and they never gave us an update on the report. I called the mold company and they said they couldn’t give me the report directly, but that they had delivered it to the sponsor on Sept 27th. The sponsor is withholding the report from us and will not tell us what is wrong, stating that they need to find more information and that the mold company they hired is just trying to get money.

They said that they’ll have some answers for me the middle of this week, but their track record demonstrates that this means nothing.

I want to see this report. Is there anything that I can do?

I’d consider paying for my own mold report–maybe some other owners will go in with you to cover the cost.
