Site Supervisor

To summarize the issue – any project doing ANY structural work seems to require a site safety supervisor now. This person comes by the job site each day and confirms there are no apparent safety hazards. They fill out a log. Quick sort of thing. It appears that each site supervisor can only take on 10 jobs at any given time.

This regulation is apparently being cracked down on by the DOB. My initial site supervisor who was reasonably priced just got in trouble with the DOB for taking on too many jobs. Has anyone else had any issues here? I’m getting quotes all over the place to get him replaced (all expensive). Any recommendations/guidance?

CORRECT! This is a new requirement. I have a house that I had to refile that had an active job permit. After months working with LPC we had to refile and BOOM triggered a site supervisor. This is for a 2 story extension. Cost about 3k but was bundled with our engineer so we are getting it a little cheaper than I expect if you are looking for an independent site supervisor. I would ask your engineer if they have someone on staff.
