Seeking Help with Awning Installation

Hello friends, I’m looking for a someone who can install an awning over my tiny patio so we can sit outside on hot and sunny days! I have the awning already– which is mostly assembled– but installing the actual brackets on the back of the house is beyond my skill set. Here is the awning I have, for reference: https://tinyurl.com/zjsx4k55. The back of the house is brownstone, btw. Could anyone recommend a specific person who can do this, or at least recommend the type of professional I should be searching for? Thank you!

Thank you Steve. Agree hence the phone for National Awnings as am sure they would have done this before.

Jane is correct. i have spent a lifetime hanging things on all manner of walls – that means installing cabinets on block, plaster and brick walls, installing windows in brick to brick, roughing in door frames to brick or block, attaching firring to brick to hang drywall,, and as late as last summer hanging a flower box on my own brick wall in the back of my house and the one thing i will not ever drill into is brownstone. even the modern mortar replacement for it, i will not touch it.

with the brownstone, if you notice how it fails, it “splays”. it peals away in sheets and it may actually look fine on the outside but if you go to hang something on it, their may be a crack in the stone about 4″ in and you might pull the stone apart (I think; as i have said, i have never drilled into it). and with the new mortar, it is often really so nice looking that i would be afraid of cracking it (some of that stuff is not that thick, so it may crack near the drill hole).

this is what i do when we absolutely must hang something very heavy on a wall or in a very risky situa tion: make a larger piece of metal (inside i use wood) which i would attach to the wall to disperse the load and then i attach the object to be hung to that. when i did the planter box on the back of my own house last year, i made oversize brackets that spread the load out over several courses of brick and i put those up and then sat the planter box on them (not some silly store bought items where you are drilling a couple small holes close together; what is the point?). this way, if there is a problem with any of the brick and something wants to fail, there are other screws either above, below, or sideways, holding it and they are at least like 6″ away from each other and the brackets themselves are a full 24″ from each other.

if i had to do this on my own house on a questionable surface, i would make a series of like 6 or 8 “T” shaped brackets that reach a little above the awning (like 1″) and go well below it (like 8 or 10″) and hang the brackets and then attach the awning to it.

i am not putting my self forth here. i would not drill into that stuff for all the money in the world.
