Seeking an affordable flooring installer, plumber and licensed electrician

I am living in a rental and the management just won’t take care of any of my requests because they are working hard to get rid of tenants so I am seeking to install a new kitchen floor from the plywood up, replace some gnarly window moulding, add extended sills and sort the electrical out legally. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

no contractor will touch your job…you can’t alter anything as a renter…you do not own the property and cannot give approval for any work …. this is why you buy a place instead of renting

It is illegal for a tenant to do anything other than simple cosmetic changes to a Landlords property.
Talk to a lawyer before you do anything that could get you evicted!

What is the kitchen floor currently, and what kind of flooring do you want to replace it with? (Wood, Marmoleum, tile, cork, etc.) Re the other stuff, you’ll need a finish carpenter, although what you describe does not sound difficult. Re the electrical, there are many fine licensed longtime electricians recommended on these boards. (I can’t recommend people myself because I work for Brownstoner.) Depending on what you’d like to do, it may be necessary to involve the building and some things may not be possible (such as adding 220 volt service if your building doesn’t already have it). Does your lease say anything about needing permission to make changes to the apartment?
