Security/Alarm System

Does anyone have any advice on alarm systems and companies out there? There appears to be a crack den directly opposite my house and during the course of the renovation the building was broken into twice. I thought now that there will actually be stuff to steal, it’s probably best to install a security system on the ground floor. This is something i know nothing about at all, and was wondering whether all companies are basically the same, are there big price fluctuations, are there things I should be looking out for? I’d appreciate suggestions or advice. Thanks!

Hi, our architect recommended Alarmingly Affordable and Mike their main guy seemed incredibly knowledgeable and has fitted many brownstones. I haven’t as yet had ours installed but it would be worth calling him anyway. (718) 979-1606

Hello. We went with Simplisafe on our brownstone: it’s a new-school, wireless / smartphone-controlled security system, but they have the crucial 24/7 home monitoring. Would really recommend: was only a few hundred dollars and about 30 mins of our time to install, cheap monthly fees ($15 I think?), and we can turn on/off via smartphones.
