Screens for casement windows that open in
Our GC is finally installing the 8 Ikon casement windows we bought a year ago. We need screens that fit on the outside, since the windows open in. Any recommendations? Thanks

Thank you, pmody. I will look into the Genius screens. We hope to see a phantom screen representative on Friday.

I see, thank you. I am familiar with Phantom, they have nice screens.

I was researching retractable screens a while back. Seems like these could be bought online in custom dimensions.

Ikon never offered us screens, and when I called them they referred me to either Phantom screens or flexscreens. The windows open in so screens would have to be on the outside of the window. Plus we would want to be able to remove them easily. Flexscreens might have worked but our windows are too tall. Phantom screens makes retractible screens; they might work but are pricey (one has to buy them from an installer).

Ikon used to provide screens. Have they stopped now?

op does not say what they need made up – if they need wood frames to be made or if they need aluminum frames that slip into something. for the aluminum frames, a glass place is a good place to start.

I hire Action Glass (718) 756-8000 for screen replacement. They are worth asking

you can make these yourself if the windows have a channel to receive the aluminum frame. Home Depot sells the aluminum and the corners to put all of this together. and of course the screen.
