Schnall update

Anyone has any advice for Schnall clients with open permits? I was told someone was going to supersede his jobs, but last I spoke to them, that was a temporary measure and Scott is back handling things. But is unable to file any amendments (I need Sched B amended). I can’t understand what’s going on (aside from Scott suing the DOB) and what I should be doing. Anyone in the same boat? Suggestions? Thanks!

I used Schnall for our underpinning structural inspection/sign-off. After I paid his invoice, I received the notice from the DOB about his rights being revoked. I went to the DOB and told them that it was a hardship/untenable for us to pay for another inspector at this point, and they accepted that and allowed his sign-off retroactively. So for those who paid Scott and have his signature on stuff already, I’d try that route.

Hello all, for what it’s worth I have just tried to contact Scott personally through his Facebook page and his fundraising page (https://www.gofundme.com/scott-schnall-vs-dob -click on the little envelope next to his name) let’s see if he will have the courtesy to reply. The least he can do is clarify for us what we can do next. Do we really need to find a new expediter and pay him as if we never had one? And about the guys in his office… I was there the other day, what about our folders with our job information among the thousands and thousands of folders still there?

I was there today. The guys told me Scott hasn’t been there in over 2 weeks and that he no longer has anything to do with their business. They just rent the space from the Schnall family. Not sure if he is drinking margaritas somewhere or is at home, but he hasn’t been responding to emails at all (he used to until April), is never there when I call (4-5 times in last few weeks) and his (former?) staff tell me that he is no longer working there and also quoting $ to supersede Scott . I would be ecstatic if he was actually working on his clients’ projects, but at best he is working on clearing his name. Looks to me that he is simply AWOL.

Netherland- curious if he actually disappeared. Like, leave the country disappeared? He’s in the middle of suing the DOB, it seems weird that he took off…

I just came from his office and Scott Schnall has disappeared. The guys there (former Schnall employees) essentially started their own business in the same space. It looks like everything I paid Schnall was wasted and I need to start over. You could see what Thomas/John will charge for your job, or go to someone else entirely.
