Repurposed wood cladding for backyard walls

I’m interested in covering the stucco walls, that frame my backyard, with wood paneling. I’m picturing using planks from pallets or something similar. What are cheap/free options for gathering this kind of stock? I’ve got about 600sqft of wall to cover. All thoughts, methods, and anecdotes are appreciated.
