Replace garage slab
Hi. Does anyone have an estimate for chopping up the slab in my garage and replacing it? 300sqft. Direct access from back alley. Thanks.

Do you know how thick the current slab is? Will they endanger the surrounding foundation or footing as they break the slab? Can they fit a machine in there or will it be done with jack hammers? How thick of a slab will you want? Will they have to dig more out and will that be done by hand? Hand work could turn this into a two day job.
My guess is this would be like breaking a sidewalk or the concrete we had removed (and repoured) in our alley out back.
The sidewalk out front is 4″ thick and was $10 per sq foot in 2009. The alley out back is 6″ thick over gravel and wire and was 21 a square foot 2 years ago. The initial quote for the alley was more, like 29 a square foot, but three of us got together and he was able to do it all in a day, breaking it and digging consecutive houses out at one time and it brought the price down.
I really cannot tell you more than that.
