Repainting brownstone facade: LPC compliant

Hello. I am in the process of appyling for an LPC permit to repaint my brownstone facade; currently it is an awful peeling shade of pepto bismol pink. My contractor and I thought it would be acceptable by LPC to paint it to match its original brownstone color, but our neighbor recently applied to repaint her white facade which was denied. LPC requires her to do a complete brownstone restoration. Has anyone had any luck getting approval for a paint job? Thank you
