Recommendations for Window Film for Privacy while keeping sunlight

Hi Everybody, I’m looking for recos / past learnings on window films on our townhouse front facade windows for privacy but still letting plenty of light in and avoiding the need for curtains. I’m leaning towards something smoked or mirrored, but also worried about something that looks tacky. I’ve also read that some window films can damage windows over time, which I’m keen to avoid. Thanks & eager to learn from your experiences!

i used something like this for our bathroom window (faces street but we wanted to keep the light): http://a.co/9FrNyJS
pretty easy to apply but we only did the bottom half of the window.
