Recommend ironwork maker for fence in the front yard

Our condo is thinking to build up a fence in the front to increase security and space to place garbage bins. Currently garbage bins are next to the sidewalk, unlined, so bystanders can use our bins and throw out trash down there. My neighbors are interested in iron fence to preserve our exterior look and wonder if the contractor can also design some landscape to match fence with our building, and create shed for garbage bin as well. Any recommendation?

To preserve the exterior look, you should look into the iron works companies that repair and reproduce antique iron work. There are a number in Brooklyn, some of which have been mentioned here. (I cannot recommend because I work for Brownstoner but search and ask here about antique iron work restoration and you will get a list of people.) A shed can be created by any carpenter (if it’s wood). (The most costly route.) Or you can do the design yourself and hire whatever trade is needed for the hardscaping, such as concrete or stone mason, then do the planting yourself. If trees are involved, it’s probably best to work with someone knowledgeable. I recommend you scour NYC for examples of front yards you like and take lots of photos, then show whoever you hire what you want.
