Real estate return on investment for landscaping in garden?

Does anyone know general return amounts for renovating a garden? We need a new deck and an overall facelift to the space. I’m realizing that costs are ranging from $15k – $100k. Not sure how much longer we’ll be there, so we want to make it nice without breaking the bank. We’re not able to make a major change to the footprint, so at the end of the day we’ll still be looking at the same brick walls; we can add plants, but we won’t magically create new views.

An attractive garden is one of those indeterminable assets that can seduce buyers. But it needn’t be anything lavish. More important than an expensive design is probably how carefully you maintain your backyard.

Do it for your own enjoyment. Don’t beyond what you would do for yourselves. You could spend a lot of money and buyers see a garden they would want to re-do to their taste.
