Radiator directly against Sheetrock wall?
Is there any issue (besides painting) with installing radiators basically directly against the wall?
I want to add at least 1” of rigid foam insulation to a cold exterior wall but it will bump out the wall and the radiators will be re-installed with no gap between them and the wall.
Any thoughts on if this is an issue?

Slightly. Not enough to affect room temperature. Also, is this a steam heat or hot water heating system? Steam runs at about 215° surface temperature and hot water generally around 170° on average.

Will it impact air flow and heat output?

It’s not an issue. It won’t get nearly hot enough to matter.
