Question

My mom’s family’s home, constructed in 1900, will most likely be purchased by a large construction company who will tear it down and rebuild. It is a three story home filled with original woodwork, moulding, mantles, banister, etc. They are all in great condition. Do you know of anyone who would be interested in purchasing such items for repurposing in a reconstruction project? I have pictures available upon request.

you can contact these folks (http://bigreuse.org/what-is-deconstruction/) and they’ll “deconstruct” the nicest bits and take them off your hands. they won’t pay you, but you would get a tax write-off for the donated materials (you have to value them yourself).
