Property tax class might change?
I bought an existing 2 family residential (non-conforming) building in an M1 (manufacturing) zone. To be able to add an enlargement, I have to make the Basement a commercial office. Does anyone know – Will this change my tax class?

Yes, any change of use will increase your RE Taxes, a commercial use will change your tax class also.
Could your “commercial” office be considered a community use space? (medical, schools, religious use) Community use space gets a lower tax assessment.
