Pocket Door Repair Recommendations?

Hi Everyone,

I have a pair of pocket doors that separate my parlor floor front and back parlors that will not open currently. There isn’t a track on the floor that I can see, so I’m guessing it is hung by tracks hidden in the walls. Does anyone have recommendations for a expert who can service them for me? I saw in the archives The Tinker’s Wagon was recommended but their site makes it sound like they’re not taking any new projects.

Talk to Joe Salem (woodzoneny@gmail.com). He mostly does wood restoration (stripping and refinishing), but he did a truly spectacular job on our antique front doors, including getting them working flawlessly and has done a lot of other work around our house. He is a fantastic guy and a true pleasure to work with.

Santos does a great job on pocket doors. He has a way of hanging them from above without disturbing the moldings.

Steve @ Tinker’s Wagon (he did my front doors) has said that he wants to wind down the business, but for a small(ish) project like this, maybe you can convince him.
