Plumbing recommendations for a total renovation

I’m looking for recommendations for plumbers for a total renovation of a 4 story townhouse. I could also use anyone’s finger in the air sense of what a project of this scale ought to cost these days. Everything is a lot more expensive than the last time we did this.

The scope is approximately:

4 stories
4.5 Bathroom, 2 Kitchens,
2X gas, on-demand water heaters
2x washer/dryers
New everything – gas lines, drains, vents, etc.
2x meters gas and water

We’re using heat-pumps so no need for radiators

We are not working as our own GC but have a good relationship with ours and often select subs together. He doesn’t love his plumbers so we’re looking for new folks.

John and Barbara would you be open to discussing what you’re paying? Our scopes aren’t the same but it would be helpful to have some data points.

We have been happy with Gary Long, Aqueduct Mechanicals Corp., (718) 267-2711. He was recommended to us by our next-door neighbor. He is doing the plumbing for a gut-renovated 2-story brick house, and also the heating (radiators in the basement , radiant floor heat on the first and second floor). He works with cast iron, so if you want PVC that may not work out. He has helpers but for us, he is always on the job himself. If you call him you can mention us – John and Barbara Hubbard.
