Plumbing-Check Valve question

As a follow up to my “Sub Pump *pipe* replacement” post which is now closed. I want to replace the check valve (attached photo) along with the new steel galvanize pipe I bought. Is the check valve the right one to buy to use with a steel galvanize pipe? Is the check valve just the middle black piece? I called one store not close to home they said it was the wrong check valve? I cant seem to find the check valve I went to 2 local plumbing stores and Home Depot. I see what looks like reducer. Keep in mind that valves, pipe and fittings must be not be less than pump connecting size

first of all it is a sump pump…..you can use any check valve that is the appropriate size
