Plumbing and electrical permits still needed with a PW-2?

Does the PW-2 allow the contractor the do electrical and plumbing work, or do the trades still need to pull separate permits for the work? Thanks.

The PW2 is the form that a contractor files for any of many different permits. I assume you mean the OT permit, which is the basic permit under which the construction is typically performed. If your job has a PL (plumbing) work type associated with it, then you need the plumber to file his/her own PW2 for the plumbing permit. Electrical is slightly different in that it is tracked independently of the main application. It may or may not be necessary depending upon how much or what kind of electrical work is being done.

To find out if you have a PL work type, go to the DOB’s page for your property, and click on Jobs/Filing. Find your current application, and click on the application number. Click on All Permits, and you’ll see a list of permits associated with your application, and what status they are in. The last two letters of the permit will be the work type.
