Planters in Brazilian walnut (ipe) and zinc

I posted about these planters last year. I still have a couple available that I would like to sell. They are in great condition and would be a great addition to any terrace or backyard. They measure 8ft (long) x 20 inches (deep) x 30 inches (high) and they are located in Clinton Hill.

Yeah but I doubt the frame is made of Ipe 2x6s.
Either way, I agree they would be pricey new.
You’re spending a lot of time promoting these planters, i hope you’re getting a cut of the action 🙂

Stickerhappy, As they say, “Do The Math”: Ipe at Dykes Lumber in Brooklyn charges for a 1×6 size-4.25 pf plus tax, for a 5/4×6 size-$5.50 pf plus tax, for a 2×6 size-$9.50 pf plus tax and for a 2×4 size-$6.60 pf plus tax. Aren’t you supposed frame out first and then attach surface planking to create planters using stainless steel screws which are a specialty item with smallish trim heads? Well…so you can ‘sticker’ to your post or you could call Mike MacDonald, the Branch Manager of Dykes on 6th Street based on chkvbk ‘s measurements of the planter height being 2-1/2′ high x 8′ long x almost 2’ deep to get an email-estimate for the materials and be ‘happy’…Chkvbk, should get a lot of buyers after THIS 🙂 $700 is a steal if you ask me!

There is no way the Ipe material alone for a planter that size costs $1500. Ipe is about $4-5 per linear foot at Dykes so with those dims prob about $500-600 in wood material– but the real cost is in the customized labor to
make it.

….wondering why they are selling for $700….The Ipe material cost alone for a planter with those dimensions cost $1500
with tax..
