odd size bathroom cabinet
We have an odd sized recessed bathroom medicine cabinet that has seen better days. It looks terrible, is rusted—I don’t think it’s salvageable.
Unfortunately I can’t seem to find a bathroom cabinet for sale that is roughly the same size (27″ wide by 16″ high).
Any custom bathroom medicine cabinet makers out there? Or any ideas on who could help?

Re installing a larger size and cutting a larger box, beware there may be a stud or electrical or plumbing in the way that would prevent this.

Sounds like a vintage size – I’d check out vintage bathroom fixtures online – there are people who sell them on eBay, and perhaps elsewhere.
Though you may be able to salvage it with bondo and paint, like a rusted cars.

You might try salvage. You can also fit a 16-inch high cabinet of any width into the space, then fill in the sides with drywall, etc. Also, any finish carpenter or cabinetmaker should be able to make a box with a door/frame on it. Can get a mirror at a glass shop. Sometimes these cabinets get pricey though.
