non-existent garage on our tax assessment
Our tax assessment lists a garage that’s been gone for at least 40 years (it’s present in the 1940 tax photo, gone in the 1980s). We’ve been here just over a year. A demolition permit was never pulled, and we have no plans to put a garage back. Is there any reason to get the assessment corrected? Perhaps complicating things, the garage was at the end of a shared driveway and was likely attached to our neighbor’s garage which is now a dilapidated structure and I am afraid the whole thing would get scrutinized and cause everyone an expensive headache.
