New landlord looking for a porter?

Im moving alone into my first multi-unit townhome this week and hoping to find someone to do some basic property management like curbing garbage, salting and snow shoveling. How are others dealing with this? I have six tenants and travel frequently for work, so want to make sure the place is kept up.

I made the same move–single person into a multi-family brownstone. I did not go away for a vacation or travel for years! Between rent collection, surprise plumbing issues, mandatory snow removal, and regular garbage collection, my best advice is to get a management company that will take care of all of the above. There’s nothing like the heat going out for 6 tenants when you are out of town to teach you a hard lesson.
