New Front Entry Doors: what kind and finding custom millworker to make them

In my neighborhood of Bushwick, security is less an issue they days: I am seeing old heavy steel doors being replaced by full “glass” ? panel aluminum frame doors. Although I don’t want to do aluminim, I have questions about the kind of “glass” these doors contain, do they offer any security or safety (breaking) and also if anyone has a good source for someone to custom make a nice set of painted solid wood doors with glass.

we got our door from vintagedoors.com . It is a traditional style 1/2 glass mahogany door. We are very happy with the quality!
