New bathroom

Can anyone recommend a contractor for a bathroom remodel along with other work that would work in Brooklyn?

If you have people that you trust already and you know what you are looking for, then you probably don’t need Sweeten – agreed.

As someone who was new to the US, NY and renovations I found the ability to have a well vetted resource, with people we could ask for reviews of, to be very useful. Maybe we got lucky as I know he now doesn’t have the time to take Sweeten jobs due to repeat customers. Since that first project he has gone on to renovate a commercial space and a Brownstone for us and has become a good friend.

Just wanted to make sure there was a balanced view here, as it really did work very well for us.

As a contractor i stay away from these web marketing services. They seem to me to be geared toward people (contractors) who want to move fast and do not have the means to generate a customer base. I don’t use these services for my own home, i go through people i know in the industry. That is why lombardi did my bathroom.

i had a miserable experience on sweeten where the guy promptly subbed everything out and was mia for the entirety of the poorly executed problem riddled project

I used them for my bathroom renovation 7 years ago — the plus for me was being put in contractors willing to take on a smaller project that I wouldn’t necessarily have found on my own. You can also see their portfolio online + reviews. When I needed a bedroom rebuilt after Hurricane Ida I posted there as well but ended up going with someone that had been recommended by someone else off the platform.

You might also consider listing your project on sweeten — contractors are pre-vetted, and they also offer a guarantee up to 50K (I think). You get to choose to you want a bid from — and it’s no pressure or cost to you.
