Neighbor's pipe burst...

So our neighbor’s pipe burst last weekend. They weren’t around and we didn’t notice the water in our cellar till it had been there for maybe about 12 hours. Based on some debris on our hot water heater, it looks the bottom 6-12 inches of it could have been under water during that time (I had to restart the pilot light). But it and our boiler (which is installed a little higher than the hot water heater) both seem to be working fine since then. Is there anything we can/should do in case one of them fails in the future because of this? The hot water heater is 6 yrs old and the boiler is much older (15-20 yrs).
