Need a recco for a LICENSED PLUMBER

Hello,

I need a recommendation for a licensed plumber to come do an inspection. Yelp reviews for several plumbers look bogus. The property next door had a leak that made its way into our basement in a big way. As a part of the insurance process, dealing with lawyers etc, I need a licensed plumber to inspect the work done next door.

I’ve contributed what I can to this site for many years, and, given all the good information I’ve received here, am happy to give back with a vendor that I’ve had excellent experience with. I wouldn’t choose a plumber based on a Yelp review (maybe a restaurant) but I certainly would based on a good review here.

Hearty recommendation for Sessa Plumbing, who’s been my primary plumber since needing emergency service on Christmas eve due to a sewer backup in my cellar. They’ve since replaced my oil boiler with a great gas system, and helped submit the paperwork for state rebates that were offered at the time, and performed smaller jobs on my radiators, insinkerator, and other ad hoc plumbing problems.

Sessa’s small plumbing staff are knowledgable and easy to work with, and explain clearly up front what’s wrong, what needs to be done, and how much the work will cost. For a small annual fee, they offer a priority service that gives a discount off their price schedule and priority scheduling that, for me as a landlord of an old building, is worth the price. They are licensed and insured.

Hear, hear! Master Plumber couldn’t agree with you more. User reviews everywhere are now a totally watered down medium. I have used sites like fakespot.com to help with yelp and amazon reviews but the space is ripe for a new model. Id be interested in what fakespot score your competitor gets. btw Ive had decent experience with henry myers, but not sure if i found “the one” yet. lol

I stopped paying for ads on Yelp because I couldn’t keep up with my competitors’ phoney baloney reviews. One company has 98 reviews as of today, all 5 stars, all impeccably written with over-the-top praise and flawless spelling and grammar.
When people send me emails and reviews, at least half of them look like they were written by a 7-year old. I guess my clientele is just not as polished as those working with other plumbers.
Someday, I hope, we’ll look back and laugh that something like Yelp existed.

There are lots of recs for licensed plumbers if you search the forum. We’ve used Stanley Lewis Plumbing and have had good experiences with them.
