National Grid Home Energy Assessment Email

Has anyone received an email from National Grid for a safe no cost energy assessment (virtual or in person). by participating, we would get $100 worth of high efficiency products.

Not sure what to make of this. the email address itself appears to be legitimately from National Grid but of course when something sounds too good to be true…

I did this at one of my properties! They gave us low-flow showerheads, a filter-like thing for the sink faucets that are also supposed to lower water usage, and foam pipe insulation (like pool noodles) to put on hot water pipes in the boiler room. Was it worth it? not really. The showerheads and sink attachments weren’t compatible with either fixture. I hope the pipe insulation is doing something, but I imagine it only saves a few cents a year. If you decide to do it, make sure you check if you’d actually want to use the shower heads they provide and if they are compatible with your existing setup.
