Moving a kitchen

We’re thinking of moving the location of our Bed Stuy townhouse kitchen up from garden to parlor floor without moving the gas line. I.e. switching to all electric? Has anyone had experience doing this recently? How involved was this process?

There are Engineers and Architects on here with a better answer, but I am almost positive this would require a drawing and plan

This will be easy to do if you have a pipe riser running up the side of the house where you want to do this. They will put a connection for the sink drain in the soil stack and add hot and cold lines for the faucet. In a rudimentary form, thousands of these kitchens had been added this way by throwing some cabinets in and hooking a sink up and laying tile over an old wood floor as they turned these single family homes into multi-family decades ago. Of course you will want something a bit nicer. You will also so have to add electricity for cooking and move or add dedicated lines for the dishwasher, micro, and fridge. Depending on how much room you have left in your service panel, that can be a challenge. Running an exhaust will mean a hole through and exterior wall.
