Metal Framed Decks?

Does anyone here know anyone with experience in building brick to brick decks using metal framing with wood top?

We are looking to replace our current deck (technically a terrace as it is a setback over a lower roof) but only interested in companies that can do a brick to brick metal frame as the current one “rests” on the roof below and we don’t want the new one to do this.

If anyone is blocked from the site or this thread deleted for what I see written at my reading, that’s absurd and this forum is becoming more and more useless since the big change. He didn’t come in heartily bad-mouthing anyone, just said he didn’t like the way a person people were pushing worked.

The attacks on a commentor for some very mildly “against” remarks on a company make me think the blog is taking ad money from certain service providers in order to keep posts about them all shiny. That’s how it’s coming off at least, so hopefully the mods will keep that in mind.

@City the whole purpose of brownstoner forums is to help owners who are facing similar situations.

Its an opinion I had, as for the claim of handing drawing over to another builder….uhm it doesn’t work like that.

All I was saying is I “the customer writing the checks” couldn’t understand what was being proposed so I let it go etc and am now just picking up the project again.

Hi Ed, its bizarre but terraces fall under a different rule, eg no more than 20% of roof area flammable.

Its a terrace not a deck so this 3′ rule doesn’t apply in this instance.

We got a quote from susan last year when we started thinking about doing this but to be honest I didn’t get all warm and fuzzy about how it was going to go together, I was asking specific questions about what was being proposed but kept getting vague answers. May just be that I’m very left brain and wanted detailed facts and figures that were missing from what I was being quoted……

Still looking for recommendations, so far have spoken with Joe @Lopopolo but that’s it.
