Master list of permits

Is there a master list somehwere of what you need to get permits for and what type? I have the gist, little things = no permits, big things=permits. but I would like more detail before I go an architect.

Here’s a list of what is exempt from filing, which may be very helpful:

I’m not sure why you want this. It sounds like you don’t trust architects. When you brought your house, did you know in advance exactly which forms and agreements were necessary to complete the transaction? I certainly didn’t and trusted my lawyer to do what was needed.
For starters you could go to the DOB website and look at the required forms but the actual permits and the requirements depend upon the type of project. I realize that the DOB process and construction in NYC can be frustrating and cost more than a person budgets. It is not a very friendly DIY endeavor.
