Looking to rent a garden apartment in Prospect Heights/Park Slope

The title pretty much covers it… my fiancee and I currently live in a large 1 bedroom in Crown Heights, and are looking for a similar or larger place in Prospect Heights/North Slope with outdoor space.

Max rent: $2200
Dog friendly – we have a small (under 20 lb), quiet dog (he sleeps about 90% of the day).
600 sqft or larger
private outdoor space (yard preferred)

I does sound low. I would keep looking, though. This is the toughest time of year for landlords to rent out vacant apartments.

Unrealistic for park slope. Especially the 600sq ft back yard part.
Peaceout- I saw those new rental buildings on 4th. While they provide many amenities that brownstone owners can provide, they have serious drawbacks. 1. They are priced very high. 2. The rooms are very small. If you put a king size bed, there is no room for anything else. 3. The living room and kitchen are very small and the ceilings are much lower then a brownstone. 4. You are on 4th avenue! Open the window and you get car fumes and loud noise.
That said….I never had a problem finding tenants for my 6 family brownstone in proper park slope. Last rental was about 6 months ago….rented for asking in 1 week.

$2200 is not unrealistic for a brownstone apt. Brownstone rentals are significantly down due to an over supply of new rentals. Many (millennials & those new to NYC) are demanding amenities such as washer dryers, dishwashers, bike storage, central AC) which brownstones often do not have. I am a real estate agent, and see homeowners struggle with acquiring new tenants, especially if they have been out of the loop for the past few years.

Unrealistic? I rent out a place (currently happily occupied) that would match all that for 2400 on the Clinton Hill/Bed-Stuy border. I agree Craigslist is the place to look.

Tough price point but not impossible. Keep checking Craig’s List and other places where owners of 2-family homes post vacancies. Also check sites like Park Slope Parents. Make sure you have superlative references at hand.
