Looking for a contractor to handle a small job in our backyard

We have a pest control problem in our backyard. Looking for a contractor or help repair a fence to keep the critters out. I’m in prospect heights. If anyone can recommend a good/skilled/affordable handyman or contractor willing to take on this job (before summer), please reply. Thanks!

We realize you dont need that. In truth, we all have fences over here but because most pests climb and crawl under, the fences are useless. Unless it is a dog. They cannot climb. But cats, my neighbor has a 6′ fall plastic fence but my cat found her way over the fence. Even the two legged pests. When we moved in here someone said don’t leave your tools in the back yard. I said “i’ll lock the gate”. The neighbor said “they’ll climb over”.

Tell us what you have. I am from suffolk county and my family had gardens and ducks, chickens, and geese and have been battling fox, raccoons, weasels, minks, deer, and owls since the day they stepped off the boat at ellis island.

Btw, two years ago i walked out in my fathers yard and a raccon was in his garden. This was during the day, which is unusual. The fence is like 8′ tall to keep the deer out. That raccoon scurried his behind up and over that fence faster than i could blink.

I will add to that: that the raccoon was out during the day was unusual. Had he not run from me i would have become alarmed. They carry rabies so if any of your pests are not afraid of you, be careful.

If you just want to patch a hole a handyman should be able to do it. IMO it’s best to ask your neighbors in Prospect Heights for a referral.

Not looking for an exterminator – we got that. I need someone to repair a fence with a hole in it that appears to be the source of the problem.

Most pests including opposums and raccoons climb. Not sure if we have weasels in here but they get into small holes. We have skunks here in queens but i do not think they climb. And rats? Seems like they drop in by parachute these days.
