LL152 Inspections

I would like to hear how everyone’s inspections have been going; from the homeowner perspective. We just started after a long back-and-forth internally amongst us Managers and the Doom and Gloom stories are already happening.
I had to tell a long-term client that because she does not have a sleeve on the pipe entering the Boiler Room that she now has to register her previously unregistered boiler with both the DOB and the BD which means she likely has to not only replace the Boiler but also get a contractor, electrician and a metal fabrication company in.
I have not even broken the news to another client how the no sleeve Gas Pipe in the Boiler Room running to an illegally installed High Efficient unit means needs a Mechanical Engineering Plan is required to even get the legalization process started.

I agree and hope that every inspection I go to passes, it would be much easier for me.
But if I am signing my name on the liability for Gas Lines in a building, I am going to make sure it marks all the provisions.
I understand your point as well but unfortunately inspections were not as thorough decades ago, so that holds no weight to me. I have heard too many stories about the Trench-Coat Inspectors for work done as early as the 90s to mean much to me.

I didn’t have an issue.. It really depends on the plumber you choose. Sorry Chris but I wouldn’t hire a plumber who never passed a single inspection. These pipes have been there for decades without issue.

I passed all the ones I had to do for work – worth noting, however, that my buildings are regularly inspected by every Tom, Dick, and Harry of a city agency so we’ve had a lot more chances to fix things that might have been done wrong in the past.
