Licensed electrician to install Tekmar 279 Steam Control in Manhattan Co-op

I have a new Tekmar 279 Steam Control that I need installed in my co-op building. It is replacing a Heat Timer unit that is on its way out. I could probably do this myself, but I need a licensed electrician for insurance reasons. Any persona/professional recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Hire a specialist with pricy dangerous equipment. That way if some simple or stupid thing goes wrong, even something unrelated to the upcoming task, you are not stuck in the middle of it when the finger pointing starts. As a board member, if something goes wrong, when the lawyers get involved, they will not care if you were trying to save money by hiring an electrician. Your neighbors won’t care either. (No good deed goes unpunished).

If you have a steam valve on that system, you want someone who not only understands how to wire it, but understands its function and what a properly functioning one looks like. After installing the control system, the installer must look at the entire system and its components and check their functionality in relation to one another.. that is not really an electrician’s job.

Are you sure you need a licensed electrician? Heating companies are licensed and insured to do control work.
