Kitchen Cabinet Finisher/Painter

Am installing wood cabinets that are being installed unfinished/un-painted and wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a reasonably priced and and skilled finisher ?

you should consider whether you wish them sprayed or not and then move from there. also stained and clear coated or painted. two different sort of trades, in a way, and a painter may not know as much as needed to stain or clear coat and not all painters spray. and there is lacquer (clear and colored) which is fast and easy but also sprayed.

it is possible to put a pretty smooth finish on cabinets with a brush, but it is not entirely perfect . it requires skill and even after doing this on entry doors for years, i still have to sand and go over all the time to get it right.

if you go with a painter and a brush, you need someone who knows the trade. i mean surface prep, priming, sanding between coats at what grits, tack cloth and recoat. i literally had someone walk into my shop last night, unannounced, because their boss is in a knot because some guy painted the boss’s entry doors and did not prep the surface properly and it is all peeling and guess what, it is going to cost a lot more to do the mess over than if it had been done right the first time an d it is outside of my work zone so i am trying to help them find somebody worth recommending.

i am not putting myself forth for this job. wait for others to comment. if nobody comes up with something good i will contact a customer of mine who not long ago had someone spray lacquer on his cabinets and i will ask about how the job went and came out before posting the name here.
