ISO Window AC to fit with window guards

Any recs? Need a slim AC that does not impede with window guards. TIA!

they are probably child guards for windows which they do not want to remove because they will need them when the a/c comes out in the fall.

Unless you have historic or ornate bars that you don’t want to alter, the best thing to do is to get an iron works to box out your bars to fit a regular air conditioner.

So yes. They sell them in the big box stores. They sit on the floor like dehumidifiers but have a plastic exhaust duct that reaches to the window and a port made to sit in the window. The window can be closed down most of the way. Not sure of the capacity of these but i bought some for a building once years ago and recall wishing the had like 12k btu. Maybe they have larger capacity now.

We use portable ACs that exhaust out the windows. They work with bars over the windows.
