ISO Polished Concrete Floor Contractor
Having spent the weekend ripping out our now moldy and warped floating wood floor, we are looking to redo our flooring as a polished concrete floor. Possibly with radiant heat. Really, we just need to get our apt back in order after these floods so we can move back in, but want to use a smart material. Anybody recommend a contractor for this sort of thing? Can anybody recommend a contractor? I’m not seeing a lot of options for residential concrete floors.

Hi Tammy,
Bolster LLC could be a good option to look into. They did a renovation for me which included mold removal, floor leveling and plank wood flooring installation. Hope it helps.

radiant heat can’t be done with a polished slab unless you tear out the cement and re-pour. if your slab is older and not insulated, it may be cold and a little clammy just polishing and/or etching.etc.
the people i know who did well with ida that were flooded had tile. threw out rugs and 1’ of bottom sheeteock, otherwise ok. you can do radiant under tile, but it will still be a little cold in the summer unless you insulate with xps and appropriate substrate. you might be able to get away with gluing direct to slab, but i personally would not. the heat will also radiate down into the soil. you could theoretically make it like a shower, foundation wall to foundation wall and caulk it tight so. there would be no way to get water anywhere underneath, and build your nonstructural walls on top of that. unusual times can cal for unusual solutions.
good luck.

Knockout Masonry. Jimmy is the owner and a very nice guy. He was flexible with scheduling around other contractors and honored a quote a couple years later.
