Is your water heater making you sick?

I’ve been recommending high storage temperatures and tempering valves for years and believe they should be standard issue on all domestic water heating installations. The NYC Code states you only need the tempering valve on hot water systems that are heated by a central-heating boiler. It’s an interesting topic that was brought to light years ago by a series of mishaps aboard multiple cruise ships.
