Is in perpetuity contract for sale of property legal?

I engaged a real estate agent to rent my 2 family brownstone. I did not realize I had agreed to give her a 5% sales commission on selling the property, regardless of who bought the property and what agent, if any, sold the property. I thought I had only agreed to engage her to rent the property with the associated rental free from the tenants. Do I have hope of extricating myself from this contract?

It must have an expiration date. Send a certified mail cancellation notice to the Principal Broker of the company.
